Blender Battles, Shut Down
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 17, 2008 (08:13:33) (130 reads)
Hi Guys.
I'm sad to say but this website has been very innactive for a long time. I set it up back in 2004 to host competitions like Speed Modelling Contests, and the Blender World Cup.
I would like to think that it was this website that re-ignited the passion for Speed Modelling Contests which became very popular again at BlenderArtists.org once this website was started.
SMC contests are now being run through IRC using the SMCBot coded by a Blender users called Protocoldoug.
Network: freenode
Channel: #SMC
The system is very sophisticated and takes a lot of the manual labour out of participating in SMC's
The Blender World Cup is now an official yearly competition held through BlenderArtists.org.
Competitions are my passion, not running a website, so as long as the competitions are still rolling i am more than happy.
Click on the Forum link at the top of the page to be directed straight to BlenderArtists.org competitions section.

June Monthly challenge - Entry for Blender World Cup 2006
Posted by Alltaken on Friday, June 02, 2006 (07:44:08) (1547 reads)
This months challenge will be condensed to 2 weeks, and will begin on the 16th of June, it will act as the qualifying round of 2006's Blender World Cup
The Winning entry of the June Monthly Challenge, will still receive a free month worth of rendering at Respower's Super/Farm. However this year the top 50% of entries will go on to the final round for Blender World Cup. This means the more entrants there are, the more finalists there will be.
We have a number of prizes lined up this year which will be officially announced mid June. What can be said is that there is a WHOLE YEAR of free rendering up for grabs from Respower, what could you possibly do with it all.
More information will be out by the 16th.
Happy Blending
